Corrected Operational and Safety Deficiencies
Background
Station 66's first response area includes both residential and multi-family occupancies,
as well as residential care facilities, in south Beaverton and north Tigard. The
station was built in 1974 and was TVF&R's smallest station. It had operational
and safety concerns, and because of its small size currently only accommodates a
single apparatus and crew.

Progress Report
The Station 66 upgrade was TVF&R’s first capital construction project. The station
was seismically upgraded, ensuring emergency response following a major earthquake
and compliance with state law and local building codes. The upgrade also provided
ADA compliance and safety improvements including an interior sprinkler system and
monitored alarms, updated locker rooms and sleeping areas, and a physical fitness
room. The upgrade added 2,915 square feet to the station to accommodate multiple
crews and apparatus as demands for service increase.
To commemorate the event, the District held an Open House and Rededication Ceremony
on February 23, 2008.
