Chaplains Program
TVF&R's Chaplaincy Program includes several clergy members that respond to incidents and provide non-sectarian crisis intervention and emotional support to those involved in traumatic incidents. The program also assists our firefighters in their time of need, be it the death or illness of a family member, or other hardship.
Cardiac / AED Program
TVF&R responds to more than 1,000 cardiac related calls every year. Over the past several years TVF&R’s survival rates for cardiac arrest have ranged between 10 and 22 percent, surpassing the national average. Surviving a cardiac arrest is dependent upon early bystander CPR and access to an automatic external defibrillator (AED).
Donations to this program can be used to purchase AEDs for public places and educational materials to help local students learn and teach others about Hands-Only CPR.
Jeffrey D. Johnson Community Assistance Program
TVF&R firefighters have been given the authority to spend up to $100 - at their discretion – to help an individual or family in need. The $100 Program gets its funding from the Jeffrey D. Johnson Community Assistance Program, which is completely dependent upon community and employee donations. The program also donates to non-profit social service agencies that share TVF&R’s commitment to preventing emergencies and making this a safer community for people to live and work in.
